Alejandra Ramírez is a Costa Rican interior designer and creative director who combines process and playfulness to bring bold environments to life.
Fittingly based in Singapore, a city buzzing with contrasts, Alejandra opened Popcorn Interiors to create residential, commercial and experiential spaces that burst with unexpected concepts and narratives.
Her works draw colours, forms, materiality, and graphic elements from the surprising places where contemporary meets vintage, geometric meets organic, while honouring history, culture, location and architecture.
Alejandra knows that the magic can only start once she’s fully understood her customers’ vision, needs and wants - a lesson she learnt from her previous experience in marketing and brand management.
For 10+ years, she worked for global consumer goods companies such as Coca-Cola, where she partnered with leading creative agencies and gained a deep understanding of brand DNA, consumer behaviours, and design processes.
Alejandra later decided to turn her passion and eye for design into a career by studying interior design at Insight School of Interior Design. Shortly after, she interned at Zhangellini & Holt, a renowned F&B interior design studio, and went on to join Infrastructure Studio, an acclaimed design agency where she worked as an interior designer and creative strategist and where she continues to do design collaborations today.
